Change Racing Re-Invests Energy Savings Into Winning Races

Change Racing facility lit with Orion's LED High Bay lights.

Change Racing recently partnered with Orion Energy Systems to retrofit their Concord, North Carolina facility. The existing system was underperforming and costly, as Team Owner Robby Benton explained, “We had metal halide lights that ate up electricity. I hated it every month when I looked at the power bill.”

In a sport where money buys speed, we can divert the energy savings from our lighting retrofit to other areas that will increase our performance on the track.

By replacing their existing metal halide and fluorescent lights, Change Racing was able to reduce their electricity consumption by over 175,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh). Change Racing expects to save over $15,000 from the project, which helps the team in their pursuit to win more races. As Benton explained, “In a sport where money buys speed, we can divert the energy savings from our lighting retrofit to other areas that will increase our performance on the track.”
