GSI turned to LightEdison to help identify the best solution to overcome these challenges. As a result, they installed 265 Harris LED High Lumen High Bay Patriot, Gen 1 fixtures to replace their inefficient metal halides. The Patriot High Lumen was chosen not only for its superior lumen output and industry leading efficiency, but because the LED solution for GSI had to be able to handle the hot and humid warehouse conditions of a typical Mississippi August.
The LED lighting solution is expected to generate savings of $490,785 over 10 years, with a lighting energy consumption reduction of 70% including a greenhouse gas reduction of over 5,200,000 pounds. In addition, the company has seen net profit improvement attributed to more efficient performance throughout the facility. In choosing Orion Lighting products, LightEdison was able to exceed the performance requirements set forth by Great Southern Industries. In addition, the products allowed LightEdison’s installation team to limit facility disruption during installation, which was critical to manufacturing operations.
